Have a Difficult Letter to Write? Try Using a Quote!

Are you stuck trying to figure out something great to say for a difficult or special moment?  Why not look around for a quote from a famous writer or celebrity to include in your correspondence?

Goodreads has a searchable quote listing that can really help if you’re struggling with your own words.

Inspirational quotes are ubiquitous, but if you choose carefully for a specific occasion, it just might eloquently sum up exactly what you were looking to say.

Here are a few that I like.

For someone going through a difficult time:

“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”

– Robert Frost

To thank a friend for being there:

“Words are easy like the wind; Faithful friends are hard to find.”

– William Shakespeare

For a message of sympathy:

“Love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone.”

– Mitch Albom

I’m inspired to send a few letters just to say hello, after reading through a few pages of quotes…
