Over the past two weeks, I’ve really been trying to focus on creating a body of work, as well as analyzing my Etsy shop. The Etsy Belgium team has been doing the February School program, and it has been very motivating for me… I think it’s the first time I’ve set achievable goals! I did this video of my drawing process last week as a result of the Etsy School.
Today I was listening to an old podcast of Austin Kleon on Art Heroes; he was discussing art and process, and I thought his most profound comment was, “You just need to make stuff!” It sounds simple, but that’s what it really is all about. Once you get going, ideas tend to lead from one to another, and you never would have had them if you hadn’t started. Clear away everything, ignore the other things on your to-do list, and just work.
I’ve posted all the Brussels drawings on this page to Society6 (worldwide shipping is free through Sunday). Below is the freshly-scrubbed-side of Saint Catherine in Brussels.
Now on to more painting!
